What is Diagnosis?

Understanding Your Mental Health Starts with an Accurate Evaluation

  • Evidence-based psychiatric and psychological assessments
  • Review of prior medical and mental health records if available
  • Comprehensive written diagnostic report and treatment recommendations

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a psychiatric evaluation take?
An initial psychiatric evaluation typically takes 60 to 90 minutes. This allows our provider enough time to conduct a thorough clinical interview, review your history, administer any necessary assessments, and discuss preliminary findings before the session ends.
Do I need a referral to schedule an evaluation?
No referral is required. You can book directly through our patient portal or by calling our office. If your insurance requires a referral, we recommend checking with your plan in advance β€” our team can assist with any questions.
What should I bring to my first evaluation?
Please bring a valid photo ID, your insurance card, a list of any current medications and dosages, any prior psychiatric or medical records if available, and your emergency contact information. Arriving 10–15 minutes early for new patient paperwork is appreciated.
Is my evaluation completely confidential?
Yes. All sessions, records, and communications are protected under HIPAA. Information from your evaluation will not be shared without your written consent, except in specific legally mandated circumstances such as imminent risk of harm.
Can I get a telehealth evaluation if I live outside Virginia?
Yes! Rose Idemili, PMHNP-BC is licensed in Virginia, Washington, and North Dakota. If you reside in any of these states, you are eligible for a remote telehealth evaluation via our secure video platform.
What insurance plans are accepted?
We accept Medicaid, Medicare, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, United Healthcare, Cigna, Optima Health, and Tricare. Self-pay options are also available. Please contact our office to verify your specific plan before your appointment.
